GO Pantry Junior Board

Junior Board Positions

We are excited about creating a Junior Board as a way to engage and involve local high school students as part of our Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity for two high school students to learn about community service through hands-on participation in the leadership of GO Pantry.

As a Junior Board member you would be invited into the leadership of GO Pantry.  You would participate in board meetings where we discuss growth and direction as we try to meet increasing demand in our local schools.  You would also be part of our leadership team in packing events and community outreach activities.  Some of the roles and responsibilities you would have during your one-year term as a Junior Board member are:

  • Attend quarterly board meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality based on current board’s bylaws and standards
  • Take an active part and attend at least 2 GO Pantry events each semester
  • Participate on a board committee
  • Advocate and promote volunteer opportunities and community events within your school and circle of influence
  • Participate in process to select future Junior Board Members

We are looking for self-motivated, hard-working, service minded, professional young adults who have a heart for feeding kids in our community.
If that sounds like you, we would love to meet you.

Below is the Junior Board application and instructions on how to apply.  We look forward to serving with you.

Often we set out to make a difference in the lives of others only to discover we have made a difference in our own.

Growing up serving:

The US Department of Labor reported there were over 60 million volunteers in the US between 2009 and 2010; 30% of those volunteers were between the ages of 16 and 19 years old (National Center for Education Statistics, 2011).
